TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2008 - 2009 The Office of the Fire Commissioner has been recognizing teachers who implement the instruction of the Learn Not to Burn Curriculum. This year, the award recognized one school, Sigurborg Stefansson Early School, and their Kindergarten to Grade 3 teachers for their commitment to making Manitoba a safer place to live, learn, work and play!
Thes school won an award of $1,200.00 and free fire safety materials for participating students and teachers. Once again the Teacher of the Year Award will be offered for the 2009 - 2010 school year. Entries will be mailed out to all Kindergarten to Grade 3 teachers in November. Please continue to encourage your local schools to teach the Learn Not to Burn curriculum and enter to win an award!
