CPAT/EPT/CAAT Information & Test Dates

CPAT

General Public CPAT Testing will be held on the dates below. This physical testing will be conducted at the Manitoba Emergency Services College, 1601 Van Horne Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba.  Payment is $100.00 and is required prior to the testing date.  We accept Visa or Mastercard over the phone.  Other methods of payment are via “certified cheque”, moneyorder, (made out to the “Minister of Finance”) or if in person by cash or Debit CardThe deadline for registering for CPAT are listed above, (no further registration will be accepted after that date).

Orientations for the CPAT dates are listed below.  Start times are at 8:30 a.m. sharp.  Attendance for orientation is not mandatory, but we are suggest that you attend. The CPAT standard has changed that you attend the two CPAT orientation dates prior to CPAT testing.  If you do not attend the CPAT orientation, you will be required to sign a waiver.

CPAT has changed their policy on allowing participants to practice on the CPAT equipment.  They are now allowing practice runs with the equipment.  This is optional and will be done only at the candidate’s request.  Therefore the Emergency Services College will be offering timed practice runs to anyone who is interested.  These will be offered on the dates immediately following the CPAT orientation walk through.  If you are interested in doing a timed practice run you will need to register and pay a $75.00 fee. The deadline for registering for orientation - timed practice runs is two days prior to scheduled date. Deadline dates are listed above.  Please contact Carol Smith at (204) 726-6843 or 1-888-253-1488 for more information.

You will also be required to provide a Candidate Physical Ability Test Medical Clearance Form signed by your physician, verifying you are physically fit to participate in the CPAT.

Our refund policy is that we must receive, in writing, a request for the refund (minus a $25.00 Administration Fee), received no later than 7 days following the testing date (this policy is also applicable to the timed practice runs).

EPT

The Manitoba Emergency Services College has developed an EMS Physical Test (EPT) designed to simulate specific components of EMS field work. This test consists of seven separate events. An orientation will be held prior to test dates along with timed practice runs to anyone who is interested. Attendance for orientation is optional. If you are interested in doing a timed practice run you will need to register and pay a $75.00 fee.

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED AT THIS TEST. Requests for refunds for EPT must be received no later than 7 days after the scheduled test date. Requests for refunds must be in writing by mail or fax to the Manager of the Emergency Services College. A $25.00 administration fee will be deducted from all refunds. No refunds will be given to individuals who take the EPT but are unsuccessful.

The CAAT (academic) test for Step 3 will be TENTATIVELY scheduled for Friday October 29, 2010.  Confirmation of the CAAT testing date will be posted after the application deadline.
