Q:  What is the program I take in order to work as a full time firefighter?
A:  The Public Fire Paramedic Program (PFPP) gives you complete firefighter and paramedic credentials to enter into a career in the emergency service.

Q:  Why should I take both firefighting/paramedic (PFPP) if I want a career in firefighting only?
A:  Today Emergency Services require  that individuals are cross-trained in order to be able to fill many roles.  For example; rescue – where you must both extricate and extract a victim, while continuously providing patient care.

Q:  Can I have a career as a paramedic if I take the Public Fire Paramedic Program?
A:  Each service has different requirements. Check with the department where you are seeking employment.  Note that these requirements can change periodically.  Today, paramedics are also trained to operate in a variety of environments including rescue and hazardous materials.

Q:  How do I apply?
A:  Refer to the Public Fire Paramedic Program (PFPP) Diploma portion of this website. Application forms must be printed from the PFPP Brochure. Print and read the brochure for important information on fees, admission requirements and testing procedures. Improper applications will be returned without notice.
