Inspectors employed by the Codes and Standards Section provides service to "design professionals", "contractors", "municipal officials", "fire officials" and to the "general public" with respect to construction of, and fire safety issues within, new and existing buildings. In addition, the Office of the Fire Commissioner has been contracted by various Rural Municipalities throughout the Province to administer their responsibilities assumed through the enacted Municipal Building By-laws. Commencing with the planning stage, "design consultation and drawing review" enhances the Owner's ability to obtain acceptance for the Project. Following the issuance of the required Building and/or Plumbing Permits, construction facilitation is achieved through regular auditing of the site as the work progresses. Ultimately, adherence to the intent of the applicable Code requirements suggests that the Health and Safety of users, as well as the protection of adjacent properties, will be achieved.
